Private Tutoring

Alongside my research work, I provide private academic tutoring for students studying Sociology and related social-science subjects, from school and college level through to undergraduate study. <br /><br />My academic background includes an MA in Sociology with Distinction, alongside extensive study of Criminology and Philosophy, allowing me to support students across a broad range of social, theoretical and research-based topics.<br /><br />Lessons are tailored to the individual, whether the aim is to improve subject understanding, strengthen essay writing and critical analysis, prepare for examinations or develop confidence with academic work. <br /><br />Tuition is available online and face-to-face in the Cambridge area, with a supportive, flexible approach focused on helping each student understand difficult concepts and make measurable academic progress.

Savannah Marriott MA (Distinction)

MA Sociology graduate with Distinction and a strong interest in workplace culture, social policy and organisational change. <br /><br />My research combines academic rigour with practical industry experience, drawing on qualitative methods including literature reviews, policy analysis, interviews, transcription and narrative analysis.<br /><br />My postgraduate research examined how restaurant managers understand and respond to workplace sexual harassment legislation, exploring the gap between policy and everyday practice. <br /><br />Alongside my academic work, seven years’ experience in hospitality and team supervision has given me first-hand insight into workplace culture, management structures and the realities of implementing organisational policy.

Independent Research Services

I provide flexible research support for organisations, businesses and independent projects, either as a standalone researcher or as a contracted member of an existing team. <br /><br />Services can include research planning, literature reviews, policy analysis, qualitative interviewing, participant recruitment, transcription, evidence synthesis and report writing.<br /><br />Projects can be managed from initial scoping through to final findings and recommendations, with particular attention to research ethics, confidentiality and clear communication throughout. <br /><br />This flexible approach allows organisations to access focused research expertise without the need for a permanent appointment, while still benefiting from structured project management, independent analysis and practical, evidence-based outputs.<br />
